Hey everyone!

Thanks for joining me for my first, of hopefully many, court-ordered signs of life check. So with me officially appearing here, we can hold off on the man-hunt yeah? I promise that I won’t be running… For now.

But anyways, onto what y’all are here for! This one is going to be a double feature to start off strong. That does probably mean that it’s all downhill from here as I’m overselling myself, but hey, at least then this’ll turn into a nice train wreck where you can roast some marshmallows as a nice pre-dinner snack.

The First Part: Updates

So, I’m continuing to clack away at book 2, but I am getting very close. I’m at the climax of the book, so I’m pushing to have the rough draft done by hopefully the weekend, then it’s off for developmental edits. However, life is life and I’m a discovery writer, so things tend to balloon on me. I remember thinking, “Oh, I should be done by end of April!” Oh sweet, innocent three weeks ago me, how little you knew of the world and its ways.

The Second Part: Call of the Plague Frost

I should have advertised it more, but I wrote a short story in the world of Crimson Hydra for the Portal Books newsletter. It’s from the perspective of Lidia Winters, a name you should be familiar with from the end of Gene Harvest. If I remember correctly, I believe she placed either 4th or 5th for the wave. And yeah yeah, I know I should remember these things. Afterall, I am the one who made it up. However, counterpoint: my brain is so smooth, so memories just roll off it like water on a duck’s back.

The short story is completely free, in addition to a bunch of other short stories from other Portal authors. All you have to do is sign up for the newsletter on the website. It’s only used to send out updates when new books are released as far as I’m aware.

That’ll be it for now, hopefully I’ll be able to provide a meatier update soon.
