Hey everyone!
It’s just about time for my monthly update! I don’t have anything too crazy to update with, as mostly everything for book 2 at this point is behind the scenes. I have probably another week, week and a half at most until the book gets back to me from copy edits and all of that. I’ll just need to charge through essentially just approving minor grammar fixes and that kind of thing, and then it’ll be making its way over to the narrator. We’re definitely getting closer to release! Although narration is an understandably time intensive endeavor, so there won’t be any blazing fast turnaround on it.
In the meantime, I’ve started to really return my focus back to just actively writing, and I’m starting to make progress on book 3! I would have been further ahead, but life doesn’t tend to work out how we planned. 2 weeks ago on Wednesday, my girlfriend found a litter of kittens in the alleyway behind our house. Our life was upended in taking care of them, and as we already have 2 cats, we had to spend a lot of time making inaccessible space for the kittens to hang out in so nothing could transfer between them.
And before you all start yelling at me, yes, I will be including a picture (included at the bottom). They’re absolutely adorable little bundles of chaos. We had been talking about getting a third for a while but wanted to wait for a better time. Obviously, the cat distribution system had other plans. We’ll be keeping one, and the others will be hopefully going out to friends and family, but if not, we’ll have alternate plans as an adoption organization is helping us out.
The five are: Kaladin, Digby, Frank, Donut, and Gin Fizz. You can tell which four I named. We’ll be adopting Digby, one of the grays who screams for attention. The moment anyone picks him up, he just starts releasing impressively loud rumbles.
But yeah. I guess way heavier on the life update than the book updates this time, but it’s about kittens. Can you blame me?
I’m hoping that with my next update I’ll have some concrete information to share, but obviously there’s a lot of moving parts at this point, which is a good thing, means progress is happening!
Thanks for sticking around, and I’ll talk to you all soon!
–Josh
