Ratings, and especially reviews, are massive for books. It shows other readers that it’s actually something worth checking out AND makes the Amazon algorithm happy. If the algorithm is happy (IE, pushes the book to more people), that means I’m happy.
Just as a note, there’s no requirement to actually post a rating or review upon release, but leaving a rating or especially a review, is one of, if not the best way to help support me. The better my books do, the more likely I’ll be able to get more of them in front of you.
